FAQ’s

What I Do

If you hire me to document your wedding that’s exactly what I’ll do – from the beginning of the day generally up to a few songs when everyone hits the dance floor. I always include planning meetings with my couples, recce venues in advance (if possible). Every wedding I photograph includes  advice and recommendations for my couples. I’m Now based on the Sunshine Coast in Qld, but I travel throughout Australia and abroad.

What is my wedding photography style?

I shoot images with an emphasis on capturing emotion – moments of fun, laughter and the love that surround you on your wedding day. My photographs are always full of life and character, great compositions and a mix of documentary, cool portraiture and observations

How much does it cost to travel to our wedding?

I love to travel for weddings and about 70% of my weddings these days are out of state or overseas. The travel fee is just the cost of my flights, 2 to 3 nights accommodation  and car rental if needed. So it can actually be a small additional fee to get me to where your wedding will be. I will always provide you with a travel quote when you first enquire so you know exactly what the travel surcharge will be. If your wedding is in Iceland, Japan, France, Italy, Spain, England, The Czech Republic, United Arab of Emirates, Mexico, Indonesia, New Zealand, or all across Australia.

My wedding is in Byron Bay, do you charge a travel fee?

If the location is only a short drive from Sunshine Coast (1 hour) I normally do not charge an additional amount. If it’s too far to drive back to Sunny Coast the same day, I ask for a nights accommodation to be covered.

What are your prices?

My prices for wedding coverage start at $2200 AUS. Please contact me for detailed pricing. I love shooting elopements in Melbourne, so if you are looking for a photographer for only a few hours coverage, please get in contact with me as I have a special price for Monday – Thursday weddings.

Do you do portrait shoots?

Yes I do all sorts of portrait shoots, including solo portrait shoots, pre wedding / engagement shoots, old lovers and family too. Get in contact with me for prices. If you see that I am going to be traveling through your area and would like a portrait shoot, get in contact, I am always happy to shoot portrait sessions when I am traveling.

What is The First Look Photo?

A huge wedding trend is emerging and its the  “First Look Photo”. We are still a pretty traditional nation when it comes to wedding and one pretty basic one is that the groom should not see his bride until they meet at the top of the aisle. But times are changing, and now we have weddings in all shapes and forms, and increasingly people are breaking the boundaries of tradition, So why wait to see your fiancé  before walking up the aisle? A very special moment between the two of you without all of the eyes of a room full of guests.  It could also be a blessing in disguise to calm all those nerves and jitters about walking up the aisle. A first look could also be incorporated into the big day if you and your loved one wish to walk up the aisle together. This could work particularly well for bride’s whose Dad is no longer with them, or where there is a bit of family politics (we all know that kind of thing!)  or even for couples who are eloping! It may not be for everyone but the pure emption is priceless.

Do you supply us with the RAW files?

A lot of love and time is put into carefully editing your photos to perfection, so that they can grow up to be the best images that they can be. The editing is much a part of the whole process as the photography on the day. So it is for this reason that unfortunately, I don’t supply unedited RAW files.

What is the best time to get married and have our portraits taken in terms of the best light?

My advice, is to stay away from between 11 and 3pm as much as possible, especially during those hot and sunny summer days. You don’t want to melt during your ceremony and be squinting during your photos. If possible, aim for a later hour, especially for your portraits. If you’re after that magic golden look, have your portraits taken around an hour before the sun sets, which can be anywhere between 4pm and 9pm, depending on the time of year, your location and time zone.

Do we need to feed you?

Yes please! If you could throw me a spare plate at dinner time, that would be awesome. It would be great if i could eat when everyone else is eating, this way i won’t miss anything before or after, and don’t like catching people with their mouths full anyway!

How do we book you?

Get in contact with me to see if I have your wedding date available. If I do, all I need in order to confirm your date is a 20%  Deposit to be paid and a signed contract. The remainder is due 2 weeks before the wedding date.

What is the process after our wedding day?

I edit sneak peek photos to share with you to post to your friends and family and also on my Facebook and Instagram page  as you can understand i run a business, so its important for my clients and hopefully future clients to stay up to date with my most recent work. I usually upload 3-5 sneak peek images. If you however have any problems with this let me know in advance to avoid any issues.

After your wedding i go through all the loved up photos and choose the best captured moments for you. Your photos will usually be shipped out to you within 4 weeks. If after you receive your photos you decide you would like an album made thats no problem at all!! Sometimes i will enter your wedding into magazines and blogs, but i will advise you if this occurs, After you receive the photos i will then upload your day to my Website.

Do you make wedding albums?

Yes I do! These are custom designed for each of my clients. See more details in the album folder. You are welcome to $200 off your Albums when you book with at the same time as your photography.

Do you work with second shooters / assistants?

I work on my own and with second shooters depending on the wedding. I love shooting small intimate weddings where I am the only photographer and I normally shoot overseas weddings on my own to keep the travel costs down for my clients. But if you have a big wedding with lots of guests it can be a good idea to include a second shooter in your wedding coverage options as they are able to capture a second point of view.
